Flawed Wall
One the major jobs to be done in the farm house is rebuilding the wall between the living room and the back room (where the apprentice used to live).
The rebuild is necessary due to the large crack that runs for quite a way along the wall. Not only is the wall cracked, but the concrete floor has moved down a inch or so as well.
We are not sure as to what caused the shift, dodgy workmanship and/or underground spring are the current theories.
We are going to do some more ripping out and have a look at the footings of the wall. Whatever the cause the solution is a new wall.
