Rain Rain Go Away
Things are going very slowly with the house at the moment. The re slating of the roof should be well underway by now, but the showery weather has dictated otherwise.
The wet weather looks like it will continue on into next week. There are lots of other things to do, but the roof is the main job on the list, and has to be complete before the weather really starts to turn bad.
When you see renovation programs on the TV there is always a bit where the presenter asks “How long do you think will it take you to do this?” or “How much have you budgeted?”. You just know that the answer is going to be way off the mark.
It’s obvious they show us this bit so we can sit at home in our slippers and laugh out loud at the inane answers given. It never ceases to amaze me how those who appear on these programs still underestimate things so badly, don’t they watch Grand Designs?
My rule is think of a number (whether pounds or months) and times it by three. That way you might, maybe, possibly be within budget and on time.
