Two Months Today
Baby Abigail is two months old today. She is growing like a thing possessed, and growing out of her baby clothes quicker than you can shout “buy shares in Mothercare” (substitute Mothercare for BabyGap if you live down south / Leeds).
As all parents know, the cost of children’s clothes, toys, etc is like having severe financial incontinence. Your money just leaks away and there is nothing you can do about it, other than squirm uncomfortably from time to time as you realise you have just leaked a bit more.
This is why when it comes to clothes I am a great believer in baby grows. Baby grows are the clothing of the people. They are simple, cheap and long lasting (baby grows that is not the people).
To make baby grows last even longer (i.e. when your child is getting too long for it’s baby grows), just cut holes in the feet and let the toes pop through. Simple.
When it comes to nappy changing time anything more complicated than a few press studs to undo is asking for trouble. I changed Abigail the other day and she was wearing an outfit with buttons on the back, on the back! Which fool designed that?
Must have been a bloke.
