Raiders Of The Lost Mouse Nest

Picture of a mouse skeletonI have found quite a few mouse nests in the farmhouse. They are all over the place, in walls, under floors, in the attic etc.

This one has been the best find yet, as it contains a dead mouse (the best kind).

By the looks of it the little critter died a fair few years ago.

The brown furry stuff around the skeleton is horse hair. This was used (in the form of a felt) under the floorboards as a sound proofing aid.

Picture of JL looking under the floorboardsJohn Luke had a good look at the skeleton and decided it was ‘cool’.

We agreed to leave it where it was because if we moved it the mouse’s ghost may come back to haunt us, and we didn’t want that.

    Pink sugar mice for Christmas?

Wasn’t that a tradition around 1905? You must be old!

Hope you are well, and still enjoying the paperwork.
